LUSH REVIEW!!!!!

Lush seems to be one of the most popular bath products taking craze in not only the USA but all over the world. We are finally taking some time to ourselves and indulging in luscious baths, and it is about time we did.

This is just a small review of some of the products I have (since many of my bubble bars were already attacked and used up).



This past Easter Season, Lush came out with 5 products, 2 of them were huge Easter eggs (called Happy Easter) filled with a soap and bubble bar. Either you picked up the Pink One, which consisted of an entire huge egg of their famous Think Pink bath bomb with rockstar soap and Creamy Candy bubble bar inside or, like myself, you got the Yellow One, which consisted of a huge Honey Bee bath bomb and Honey I Washed the Kids soap and Mar Bar bubble bar inside. I chose the Yellow One because I absolutely adore Honey I Washed the Kids soap as well as Honey Bee Bath Bomb, which goes so well together. Both of these smell like honey mixed with Caramel, which Mar Bar is honey and toffee mixed in...DELICIOUS!!!






Some of their other Easter products were 3 different bath bombs. One was their pink Fluffy Egg, which smells sweet like candy. Unfortunately one of mine fell in transit, but will still be completely used up. Although this bath bomb smells decadent, it doesn't last very long in the bath. It does make your bath smell wonderful and turns your bath water pink, but I was still disappointed on the fact that as soon as it touched water, it disappeared in about 15-20 seconds. I like my bath bombs to sort of linger in the water with you.

Their other two bath bombs, both yellow is Hippy Chick, shaped like a little chick and Honey Bun. The Honey Bun smells very similar to Honey Bee since to is infused with Honey and Toffee and Hippy Chick is a strong grapefruit smell that should awaken your senses. Although I have yet to try these bath bombs, I have a distinct feeling that they too will disappear within seconds.



Another of their best-selling bath bombs is their Sex Bath Bomb, which has a very floral scent (hence the beautiful rose in the center). After popping this in your bath you will come out, literally, smelling like Rose.



If you are looking for a great combination to throw in your water to have your skin feeling supple and soft with frothy bubbles, then try one of their bath melts MMM Melting Marshmallow Moment Bath Melt and Pop In The Bath Bubble Bar. This bath melt smells so yummy, just like marshmellows that softens your skin as you bathe and the Pop in the Bar Bubbles has a hint of citrus but lathers so well against your soft skin.

But as stated before, to me the BEST combination is:

I cannot get enough of this combo!!! Smelling like honey, caramel and toffee and mix it in with Honey I Washed the Kids soap is PERFECT. It lingers on your skin for so long after the bath. I LOVE IT!!!!


If you want your kids to partake in a great bath as well, I recommend their
Ickle Baby Bot bath bomb, which has lavender and chamomile to help the little ones relax and go to sleep. Also try their Dorothy bubble bar for kicks and giggles and have them dream about the Yellow Brick Road.

MAC OVERHAUL

This past week I went to my nearby MAC Pro Store in the City and picked up, or shall I say, got persuaded by the lovely Makeup Artist into buying some of their new lines. Since I already purchased the Lady of Liberty Blush the other visit, I then decided to pick up two of their lipsticks, Petal and Peacock, a lovely, vibrant purplish pink and Peachstock, a peachy nude. Both of these lipsticks have a Satin finish so they provide a lot of pigment on your lips. With Petal and Peacock, I decided to buy a lip pencil in the color Magenta in their permanent line, just because I don't want it to bleed, which those colors tend to do.

Next, I purchased more eyeliners from the Art Supply Collection. This time I purchased two, Designer Purple (a very sparkly purple) and Industrial (a bluish-grey color). Since I already bought Undercurrent and loved it, these two will fit nicely with my collection.

I also bought a Greasepaint Stick in the color "Dirty" which is exactly how it looks when applied: a dark brown "dirty" effect, but once you place and pat an eyeshadow on top of it, then it really brings out the vibrancy of the eyeshadow. I also needed a new under eye concealer and I heard great things about the Moisture Select and I am an NW25 in order for it to lighten me up a bit.

From top to Bottom: Magenta lip pencil; Petals and Peacock Lipstick, Dirty Greasepaint Stick, Industrial eyeliner, Undercurrent and Designer Purple.

I also picked up MAC's famous Rubenesque paintpot, which sort of reminds me of Urban Decay;s Primer Potion in Sin, but to give MAC credit, they came out with this color before UB did and it does look like it will last me awhile, as long as it doesn't dry out.

My last purchase was for a new blush brush. I already have the MAC 129, which I adore, but the Makeup Artist at MAC suggested I use their MAC 116, which is a much smaller blush brush, to focus solely on the apples of my cheeks. He said if you have a small face with smaller apples, the 116 would do the trick better than the 129 and for $32, he better be right! LOL

ALDO Shoe Haul

This week was absolutely gorgeous in NYC and it got me deep into Spring Fever. What perfect way to celebrate Spring than to buy Sandals for the event. I wanted to go to ALDO because they are usually on point when it comes to the latest fashionable shoes and I wanted something I could wear either outside or to work.

My first purchase were for the MONNIN Shoes, which are a very, very comfortable brown leather, strappy sandal. They are platform shoes so they give your height, but doesn't strain for your feet and gives support, while still looking for sleek and sexy.





The MONNIN's are $70 at ALDO but with all ALDO shoes, they run a bit small and they don't carry 1/2 sizes so I had to get the size 9 (since I'm usually an 8 1/2), but they fit perfectly and are extremely easy on the feet.

My next purchase were for the Gray and Pink VANHOVE. I wear a lot of grays (either skirts or slacks) at work and wanted to have a sexy shoe to compliment it and these just caught my eye. Although they are claimed to be platforms, they not as easy on the feet than the MONNINS. The heels are bit higher and pointier but if you can handle it, then they are a beautiful shoe. The VANHOVES retail at $80 at ALDO.






Spring is in the air, so ladies schedule your pedicures and whip out the open toe shoes and sandals!

MAC Liberty of London Prim and Proper Blush and New Undercurrent Pearl Glide Intense Eye Liner

Yesterday I went by my Mac Pro Store and decided to pick up a few things. My intention there was simply to buy another bottle of their Brush Cleanser and the new Veluxe Shimmer Eyeshadow in "Hey," from the Prep for Colour collection, but as some of you may know, you wind up buying more than you originally thought.

Anyhoo, the makeup artist there (Jerome - loved ya!) must have read me to a "T" as he approached me and started telling me all the things that would look wonderful on me and complimenting my already applied makup, suggesting I should go into being an makeup artist, and of course, I ate it up, LOL. After picking up the items I had come in there for, I decided to look at some of the cream blushes, as I have never used any of MAC's before, but he decided to apply Liberty of London's "Prim & Proper" onto my cheeks with the MAC 116 brush (which I thought I purchased but instead he slipped in the 129 which I already own and back to the the Pro store I go today to a swap!). He showed me how it highlighted my cheeks and complimented my skin tone, so I was talked into buying it and I actually like it. It is classified aas a nuetral nude but I find it has some pinkish undertones, so a little goes a long way and I only applied it to the apples of my cheeks. This blush retails for $18.50 and I think the packaging is pretty cute too. These are limited edition and I'm not sure how long they will be available, but if you like the swatches, go grab it before it's gone!








The next purchase was the new MAC eyeliner in Undercurrent. The liner is from the Art Supplies Collection and at first glance I wasn't really interested in the Collection and have been contemplating skipping it altogether, but went I swatched the Undercurrent on my hand, it went on so smoothly and was such a vibrant, green that I knew it would really bring my brown eyes and make them "pop." The eyeliners are $14.50 and it is already sold out on their website, so if you can find it at a MAC Pro Store or a MAC counter, pick it up for that little extra something. Currently I am just applying it to the waterline and bottom lashline only with a more neutral eye color on top in order to allow the intense green to be the center attraction.
