Muji Acrylic Makeup Storage - The Clear Cube Dupe

For all you makeup lovers out there who have craved The Clear Cube seen on Keeping Up With the Kardashians - never fear - a more affordable alternative is out there. In New York City I stumbled across the Muji Store in Times Square (there are 2 other NYC locations as well) and I saw an entire display of these acrylic storage cases. They have single drawer, 2 drawers, 2 drawers with lids, 3 drawers and a 5 drawer case. The 5 drawer case resembled The Clear Cube but with smaller drawers while the 2 drawer cases were much deeper. They are easily stackable to make it convenient for you if you want to build upon it. The Clear Cube is around $300 for only 5 drawers. I don't know about you but I need much more than 5 drawers. If you remember the episode of Keeping up with the Kardashians, the sisters have a few of these and not just one, but of course, THEY can afford it.

Look how easily you can stack them!

The prices for the Muji Organizational Cases are a lot more affordable and are made of the same durable acrylic except they don't have knobs to pull out the drawers but have a little cleft for your finger to go through to pull it out, but for the price you can't beat it!!!!

All of the different sets of drawers are in the range and can be found here:

These badboys are a hot commodity so the best thing to do is call their Chelsea location since they are the store that ships out to you if you can't find them online and as long as they have them in stock. I am not 100% sure if their other locations offer to ship them to you for about $10 Fed Ex shipping but you can always call them and ask. Happy Makeup organization Ladies.

Sigma Sigmax HD Brushes

I recently purchased Sigma's new and innovative Sigmax Synthetic Brushes. There are 3 different brushes in their new Sigmax line.
To order these brushes go here: http://www.sigmabeauty.com/?Click=57286

The entire set of these brushes is $42 which is completely worth the price considering that one brush alone in MAC will run you about that or even more depending on their brush and their brushes don't come close to buffing out makeup as these brushes do. Kudos to Sigma!
Each brush alone is $16 so you are saving some money if you buy the entire Synthetic Face Kit set. =)

Look how DENSE these brushes ARE!!!!

F80 Flattop Kabuki

The F80 Flattop Kabuki is by far their best-selling in this line and was introduced first. It is perfect for applying liquid, cream or powder foundation and buffs it out on your skin flawlessly. This is my personal favorite in buffering out my liquid and cream foundations!

F82 Round Top Kabuki

The F82 is the Roundtop Kabuki brush and with its synthetic fibers can be used exactly the same way in buffing out liquid, cream or powder products. I especially like using this brush since the head is smaller, it fits better on the crevices of your face, especially around the nose areas!

F84 Angled Top Kabuki

The F84 is their Angled Top Kabuki and is used for perfect application of cream/liquid or powder products on the cheeks without any harsh lines. Perfect for any cream bronzers or blushes you want to use!
These brushes are amazing and get them while they are still in stock because they run out FAST!!

Mels Sweet Bar Review

As many of you probably already know, MakeupbyMel has opened up her own soap store which features the cutest most delectable looking soap and bath bomb products that I have ever seen. It really does give Lush a run for its money. Now, I am a big fan of lush and I have a big lush haul on this blog site in fact, but their products are not as cute as these soaps. Her website for these soaps are: http://melsweetbar.com for you to look and review. Her prices range from $3 - $6 and her shipping costs are reasonable due to the fact that she ships according to weight.

The soaps all smell DELICIOUS and are true to their name! They are all handmade and made-to-order in fact, so you are all receiving brand new soaps made with love.

I had the pleasure of buying her products on two very recent occasions. One was on January 11, 2011 where she was having a sale for those spending more than $20 (if you did it night before) or $25 if it was on the 11th itself. With your order you received a free Hello Kitty Soap (valued at $5 and free expedited shipping). I jumped on the chance and ordered 3 soaps and 2 bath bombs (my favorite treat). I received it in 2 days time and was thrilled at the cute packaging details. Here is what I got:

I purchased the Vanilla bath bomb, the mint chocolate bath bomb, the Red Velvet cupcake soap, the Laffy Taffy Soap, the Vanilla Sugar Cookie soap and my free Hello Kitty Soap!

Then Mels Sweet Bar launched their Valentine's Day line on January 14th and I jumped on the bandwagon since these products would be limited edition and won't be here for long. Here is what I purchased:

Since these were limited edition I purchased 2 Sweet Strawberry soaps, 2 Sweetheart cupcake bath bombs, and 1 Love me Lots Soap.

I highly recommend you try any one of her soaps. She even has Lush Dupes which smell exactly like their predecessors but for more product for the buck! She constantly has new innovations and updates on her website with new products and ideas. Good work Mel!!!

Maybelline FIT me Foundation

I was walking in my local Walgreens and noticed a display for a new Maybelline makeup. I have recently purchased Maybelline's Dream Smooth Mousse and had liked it's consistency and the matching to my skin tone was flawless so I figured, "what the hell?" and purchased this one as well. Their main focus is to not only provide you with a great foundation, but they also have a concealer, press powder, bronzer and blush. I only purchased the foundation, press powder and concealer since I already have enough bronzer and blush and didn't need these extras.

The foundation comes with SPF of 18, so not too much but also better than nothing if you're looking for SPF protection. I have read and seen some reviews on this where people with oily or somewhat oily skin found that the foundation didn't last and gave them a lot of oily spotting. I have a very oily nose and the rest of my skin is somewhat dry or normal. I put this foundation on at 7AM and did have to use their pressing powder throughout the day since my nose was oily. Today I did my makeup again with this foundation and I put it on at noon and it is 4:30PM and I have ZERO oily spots at all. Today I used my Makeup Forever HD powder instead and it has lasted me throughout the day so far with no oils so the foundation seems to be matching up so far. I would definitely recommend this drugstore foundation to those who can match their skin tone. They have about 12 different shades (4 for light, 4 for medium and 4 for darker/deep shades). Let me know what you think!
